FAQs
What outfit and shoes will my child need for class?
Any style of dance apparel is acceptable. Dance dresses with skirts, booty shorts and sports bra tops, regular leotards, etc. We do prefer that they are solid colored and tight fitting. Shoes depend on the type of class you register for. Sparklers and Twinklers will need black tap and pink ballet shoes. Tumblers will need white acro shoes. All-Starz wear tap & jazz shoes. Starz sells both new and lightly used shoes on site. Please stop by prior to your first class for fittings.
Can I watch my Childs class?
Starz holds regular watch-week classes for parent observations (these have had some limitations with Covid so please watch for specific information about your current options). Normally our watch week’s are held the first full week of classes in Sept, Oct, Dec, Feb & during picture week in early May. We offer a parent watch week at the END of our Summer Session program.
What if my child has a change of heart and wants to drop their class?
We make every effort to address any problems or issues to prevent mid-session drops, but if this needs to happen, we ask that there be a 30-day notification of your intent. Once this is provided, we will be able to discontinue your enrollment and any tuition auto deductions scheduled.
NOTE: We plan for our annual Showcase in early fall and order costumes in December. Dropped classes that occur from Dec-May will forfeit any funds paid toward our Showcase costumes.
We are often out of town during the summer months, should we opt out of Summer session classes?
Absolutely not! We schedule our summer classes on Tues-Wed-Thurs only during our Summer session leaving plenty of free time for vacations etc. If you have an extenuating circumstance, or larger conflicts, we will work with you individually to provide alternative options.
Is there an additional enrollment fee for summer?
NO, we do not charge anything but a base tuition cost for Summer Enrollment.
Is there a Performance requirement for summer?
NO, we typically have some Summer parade options (required for competition team members) but these are optional for all recreational students.
How does my child join the competition program?
The first step is to join one of our recreational classes. After the first session of our recreational program we will further assess & recommend students for our competition program. If your dancer is interested or has had prior experience with another program please reach out to us for additional information at Starzoakgrove@gmail.com
