Billing & Scheduling Clarification
★All summer tuition is now due. A late fee will be applied to unpaid accounts on 6/18/16.
★Solo/duo/trios with alternating weeks have been pre-scheduled on the summer calendar. If you are absent from any of these it is your responsibility to make them up or reschedule with your teachers. Money will not be deducted for any other absences and we must have already received advance notification for any solo, duo or trio cancellations or they will not rescheduled or credited.
Troupe Auditions, Etc.
★Troupe students will be graded and receive scores for their skills and ability during our testing dates July 21-22nd prior to auditions. The skills exam and testing guidelines will be distributed soon. If you need a new copy email Cari at Cari@StarzDanceStudio.com
★REMINDER: All dancers MUST have 10 or fewer absences listed prior to auditions on 7/25 or they will not be allowed to try out.
★Auditions for next year’s troupe are set for MONDAY, JULY 25th. All students age 8 & under from 9:30-11:30AM. All students Age 9-11 from 12-2pm. And all students age 12+ from 2-3:30pm. Solo auditions 3:30pm (see your teachers for solo audition details).
★Routine request forms will be disbursed soon and are due back by July 14th.
★We will hold parent/teacher/student conferences on multiple dates. A signup sheet is posted on the bulletin board. This is your opportunity to sit down one on one to discuss your thoughts on next year’s troupe, and any other concerns you may have. It is optional, but I encourage all of you to make an appointment.
★Mark your calendars now for Puddlejumpers, Grain Valley days, and Fall Fun Fest events. These are all mandatory events for troupe A students. Additional specifics and details with the next newsletter.
Welcome to Summer with the Starz 2016! We are looking forward to another fun filled summer and have several events scheduled toward the end of our session. Please make sure to read your newsletters faithfully. All of the details pertaining to the parades and shows will be outlined in your newsletters, and in classes, during watch weeks. Our next watch week is August 2-4th. A big hello to all the new students in our classes this summer! We want you all to know how much your involvement and support is appreciated. Thank you!
Summer Scheduling Changes
★We’ve made a few changes to our summer schedule. Be sure to pick up an updated copy of the schedule at the front desk before attending any make-up classes.
Summer Parade & Show Schedule
★Starz will participate in 4 events this summer and early fall. Recreational students participation in these events is totally voluntary. These events are often a favorite activity for our students, so we encourage all of you to participate if you can. Mark your calendars!
★Odessa Puddlejumpers Festival, Saturday August 6th. (& Troupe A & B performance)
★Grain Valley Fair Daze Parade, Saturday September 10th.
★Oak Grove Homecoming Parade, Friday 9/30/16 (Out-of-district students must be accompanied by a parent)
★Fall Fun Fest, Tentatively Saturday Sept 17th performance only, no parade.
★Typically Starz has three “units” in our parade entries: A float for younger students to ride on; a walking unit for our dance students; and a tumbling unit for tumbling students. Additional parade details, including parade outfits, will be emailed in July. Please be sure we have your accurate email address on file.
★We will also need Parent volunteers to walk in the parades. Volunteers must have a Starz logo shirt to participate. Order forms for all parade outfits will be available soon.
Studio Policy Reminders & Tuition Payment Schedule
★Please be sure you have filled out our summer enrollment and policy forms either in person or online. If you pre-registered over the phone we may still need this information from you.
★Summer tuition is now due and will be considered late ($10 fee) if unpaid by June 17th. Automatic withdrawal fees will be deducted on 6/17/16, and if split payment was indicated, the second withdrawal will be on 7/15/16.
★Summer session watch week will be held June 14-17th. Parents may sit in on classes during this week of class.
★If you must miss class, we encourage students to “make-up” with any other regularly scheduled class at Starz. Tuition will not be deducted, nor will credit be applied, for absences. There is no time limit for when you can make-up absences as long as it’s during summer session.
★Please remember our dress code: solid colored, tight fitting dance attire only! Hair pulled up away from face please.
Troupe, Pre-Troupe (B level) & Audition Info
★Auditions for next year’s troupe are set for MONDAY, JULY 25th. All students age 8 & under from 9:30-11:30AM. All students Age 9-11 from 12-2pm, and All students age 12+ from 2-3:30pm. Information packets for Troupe are available at the front desk now and routine request forms are due back by 7/14/16.
★Current Troupe “B” students who are considering trying out for next year’s troupe program should plan on attending Troupe preparatory classes on July 21-22nd at Starz to preparation for auditions. You will need to continue in your regularly scheduled classes as well. We will discuss this more in watch week classes. A complete information packet about our troupe A & B programs are available at the front desk. Parents should also sign up for a conference with Cari. See the troupe bulletin board for conference times.

Shoe Orders & Showcase 2016 T-shirts, Pictures & Video’s
★Our next shoe order will be placed on June 17th. Orders usually arrive week from order date.
★If you have a problem with, or did not receive your showcase pictures. Please call JL Photography, at 229-8597.
★You can still order Showcase 2016 DVD’s. Contact them at 816-350-8870, or visit them on the web at www.cinematicvisions.com. Videos will be MAILED to those who ordered in late August.
