SEPTEMBER SUPER STARZ TROUPE NEWS

Welcome back everyone.  We will review information and newsletters on Sunday Sept. 19th and then on the 2nd Sunday lesson of every month starting in October.  PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION CAREFULLY, and stop in to check the bulletin board frequently.  Don’t hesitate to call or e-mail me with any questions, 690-4380 or starzstudio@aol.com

 

September

7th:         All Classes and rehearsals resume

                ENROLLMENT FORMS, PAPERWORK, ETC DUE!

6pm Concordia Show rehearsal for Burnin Love, 9-5, & Walk the Dino

8th:         6:30 Concordia Show rehearsals for:  Irish & At Last

9th:         7:30pm Concordia Show rehearsals for: Funky & Silence

11th:        Grain Valley Parade - MANDATORY, 8:30am lineup

                CONCORDIA PERFORMANCE - arrive by 4:30pm

14th:        Sept. Shoe order placed

 

Remember - Check your e-mails regularly!!

12th:        Sunday Week A rehearsals begin. 

14-16th:  Level A/2, A/3 & A/4 watch week

19th         B-week & PARENT MEETING 5PM

(new troupe students bring birth certificate copies!)

20th:        Level A/1 watch week

23rd:        Windsuit and Bag Orders placed

October

1st:           OG Homecoming Parade,12:30 lineup

3rd:          Tentative Costume/Shoe fittings 5pm,

SHOE DEPOSITS DUE

 

 

Attendance:

-Attendance is mandatory for all troupe A classes and rehearsals.  If you have an absence due to illness please call the studio to let us know.  If you have a scheduled absence due to another activity, please write us a note and post it in the teachers office on the b-board.  Soloist absences will NOT be made up without prior notification. 

-SIGN IN.  ALL troupe A students must sign in for their technique classes when they attend each week.  If you’re child does not sign in, they WILL be counted absent and will be asked to make it up.  More than 3 absences may cause your child to be removed from troupe or prevented from competing.

-When making up technique absences, students must attend a min. 2 hours.  Less than 2 hours will not be legitimate make up lesson.

 

Upcoming Shows/Parade:

*MANDATORY! Grain Valley Fair days 9/1/10: Parade only, no show.  Lineup at Grain Valley H.S. by 8:30am.

*MANDATORY CONCORDIA PERFORMANCE 9/12/09: arrive by 4:30pm for 5:00 Show.  Costumes and light makeup required.  Tights optional based on weather.  Routines performing are:  Anchors Aweigh, Angel solo, Workin 9 to 5, Silence, At Last, Burnin Love, Kendra solo, Luck O the Irish, Walk the Dinosaur, Play that Funky Music

 

Calendar of Events:

-We’re putting together the yearlong calendar now and hope to have it ready for disbursal in October. 

-Alternating weeks calendar is now posted in the studio lobby and on our website.  This calendar is primarily for the purpose of designating dates for routines that alternate.  NOT every routine is listed.  There’s bound to be a bit of confusion while we get this on a regular schedule so please be patient!  When in doubt, always refer to the calendar posted in the lobby.   Also, be sure to check your fees statements for the correct charges on these alternating routines. 

-Costume fittings/measurements and competition shoe sizing will be taken during production rehearsal, tentatively Sun. Oct. 3rd.  A 50% deposit on shoes will be required prior to ordering, please be prepared to pay deposits for shoes on that date.

 

Booster Club Meeting & Details:

-Sunday, Sept. 19th at 5pm.  If you want to participate in our fundraising this season you MUST attend or email Linda Folkers at; 4rkdz@comcast.net

-Remember that any requests for withdrawal of funds from booster club must be made by the 15th of the month and will be paid by the 1st.  We make every effort to provide you with at least 30 days notice of any fees due.  It is your responsibility to get your withdrawal requests submitted in time.  Thank you.

-Any remaining used leotards from the dancewear sale will need to be picked up by Sept. 20th please.

 

Troupe Reminders:   ALL our troupe families should now be entered in our online system.  Birth certificate (rookies )needed  ASAP!

-Our first parent meeting is Sunday Sept. 19th.  After that, newsletter review and parent meeting will be held the 2nd Sunday lesson of each month.  You are also welcome to sit in on classes the 2nd lesson of each month.  With alternating routines, parents may sit in on the last 5-10 minutes of the class during the 3rd lesson of the month. 

-Solid colored leotards AND TIGHTS should be worn to all classes (except boys).  Hair must be in a bun for ballet classes. 

-There are mandatory warm up suits, dance bags, and ballet shoes for all troupe A members.  Dance bag and windsuit orders will be placed on September 23rd; it is your responsibility to order what you need for the year.  All other required items will be sized and ordered for you provided you make the appropriate deposits on the due dates.  Do not order other new shoes yet, any style tap and jazz shoes are acceptable for now.

-SAVE FOR COSTUMES NOW!  Your competition costume deposits will be due in November.  NOW is the time to start saving, or putting extra money into your costume reserve fund.  Your troupe related expenses escalate from here through the end of the year so be prepared.

 

*Parents and students, PLEASE direct any serious comments or concerns to Cari.  Trust in your teachers, and give us the opportunity to address any problems you may have instead of spreading negative rumors or gossip.  Call me at home or e-mail me anytime!!  Thank you!
