Competition Costumes:

-Your statements have been billed for the TOTAL cost of all known costumes and accessories. However, ONLY THE DEPOSIT amount listed on your statements is due on 11/9. Please refer to our costume info sheet for all specifics pertaining to your routines. If you’re using booster funds for the costume balances, please submit withdrawal forms for KDC/SSDB by Nov. 15th.

-Please check your requirements for tights carefully. Most routines will wear Bloch brand tights, color tan (NOT light tan) unless otherwise specified. These are now available at Starz for $10 child, $12 adult. This season we also have multiple variations on other tights requirements. Fishnets, stirrups, and black tights will be available closer to pep rally time. ALL tights are your responsibility to purchase. Remember, you’ll need a backup pair or two in your bags at competition time.

-A few routines will need TAN jazz shoes instead of black. Please check your costume sheets and place orders at the desk for these shoes by November 13th. Don’t delay! The longer you wait the more likely these shoes will be back ordered and may not arrive in time.

-If you need to exchange your shoes for size, please do so NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 12TH so we can get the re-orders placed asap.

 
OG Primary Christmas Performance:

-This will be an optional event for all veteran (no newbies) troupe A members this year. Sign up on the b-board now. Rehearsals Confirmed/scheduled for Nov. 16th & Dec 7th from 1-2:30 (approx) and again on 10th from 6:30-8pm. A minimal costume will be required. The performance will be held on Friday, Dec. 12th at 2pm at the OG Primary School. Students may be excused (inquire with your district) from school for community service hours with this performance opportunity.


 

Nov. 8th – MOVIE NIGHT SOCIAL

-Troupe A dancers are encouraged to join us for our first social event held Saturday, Nov. 8th Arrive by 6:30, pick up by 10pm. Held at the hall next door to Miss Jill’s home in Grain Valley. Address: 29210 AA Hwy.

Directions: Take AA Hwy about 1 mile West of Grain Valley H.S., watch for the signs and/or balloons on the right.

-We will provide snacks and games, etc but please bring your own beverages. You may also want to bring a beanbag chair, blanket, etc. to get comfy for movie time. Parent’s can come, but it’s really intended more for the dancers. Hope to see them ALL there!!


 

Assistant teacher report cards:

All regular assistants should submit a copy of your 1st quarter report card to Cari as soon as they are available. You must maintain a “B” average to assist with classes.


 

Troupe Snow Days policy:

When OG schools close due to inclement weather all REGULAR classes are also cancelled. However, regardless of school closings, be sure to check your e-mails and/or call the studio to check on troupe routine cancellations, which MAY still be held.


 

2009 Spotlight Nationals Hotel Info:

-Thanks SO much to Laurie Hontz for coordinating our arrangements this year!

Book your hotel rooms for Nationals now:

CLARION AT THE PALACE: 1-800-725-2236, www.clarionhotelbranson.com

-The hotel is 2 miles from the competition site. Rooms are two bedrooms with fridge and micro at $74.99 per night. Includes a continental breakfast, restaurant on site, and pool.

-Book room for the minimum dates of June 15th-21st, 2009 for now. Ask for the “Starz Dance Studio Rate”. King beds and family suites are also available upon request. Please plan on any site-seeing and vacationing for your family AFTER Nationals is completed in order to avoid competition conflicts. You can reduce dates later but may not be able to add.

You must make your reservations no later than April 1st, 2009!

SSDB Fund Raisers:

-Tupperware orders are now available for pick up.

-Thanks to Valerie Robinson for heading up the Greenery sales.  Orders are expected in the first week of December.  Valerie will call you when ready and signs will be posted at the studio.  Please pick up promptly as it is live greenery and will die if not disbursed quickly.   There is also always extra available so please contact Valerie if you need more.   Pick up address is 401 SW 28th St in Oak Grove. 

-Upcoming fundraisers include candy sales, sonic card sales, and party lites sales. Watch your emails, b-board, and newsletters for additional details.
