Starz Studio of Performing Arts - Policies and Procedures
Classroom Attire And Shoes:
*SOLID COLORED DANCE ATTIRE IS MANDATORY FOR ALL CLASSES. No baggy shorts or t-shirts please. Leotards, tights, half-tops, biker shorts, and dance skirts are all considered acceptable dancewear. Required shoes are available for purchase at Starz. You may purchase them elsewhere but please adhere to the specific colors and styles listed below.
-Tiny Tots & Combination Classes: Dancewear, basic black tap shoes, & pink ballet shoes.
-Tap/Jazz/Hip Hop Classes: Dancewear, basic tap shoes and pink ballet shoes. Teen dancers wear jazz oxfords, and “jazz” tap shoes. The color of these shoes is determined by our Showcase costume selections. Please inquire upon enrollment.
-Ballet Classes: Pink ballet shoes are required. Black leotard and pink tights are encouraged. Hair must be pulled back, preferably in a bun.
-Tumbling Classes: Dancewear with/without tights, hair securely pulled back, and white tumbling shoes. (No bare feet please.)
-Boy’s classes, Musical Theater & Hip Hop: No specific dress code is required. However, students should wear shoes and clothing that allow for ease and comfort when performing basic dance skills. A specific type of shoe may be required to coordinate with Showcase costumes.
Showcase Requirements & Costume Fees:
* Fall session students will be required to participate in our annual “Showcase of the Starz” usually held in early June. One costume will be selected for each class. A $30 costume deposit will be due in December with the balance due in February. Prices vary by class but are general $50.00-$60.00 per routine and include one pair of tights. Additional information regarding Showcase will be distributed in monthly newsletters.
Care of Students:
*Starz is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students. Students are not to be left at the school for excessive time periods before or after their classes.
Injuries:
*Parents, legal guardians of minors, students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during or after class time.
Registration:
*A non-refundable enrollment fee of $15.00 per student is required yearly for fall session classes and is due upon registration.
Payment of Fees:
*Fall session tuition is due by the 15th of each month and is payable by credit, or debit cards, or thru automatic recurring deduction from a bank account. Cash & Check payments are discouraged.
*Summer session tuition is due in full prior to the first class. Payment for the entire 8-week summer session must paid prior to the first class.
*Direct withdrawal from your checking or savings account is available and encouraged. If paying by automatic withdrawal, please refer to our enrollment form information for set up of your account.
*There is a $25 fee for checks or direct withdrawals that are returned for insufficient funds.
Withdrawals and Refunds:
*There is a two-month minimum for all lessons. One-month notice from the first of the month is required to discontinue any classes. Withdrawal must be done in person and will not be accepted over the phone. Withdrawals are accepted only at our front desk, not with the teacher. Withdrawal must occur within the first 7 days of the month. To withdraw from classes a parent or guardian must:
1. Inform the studio administration desk in person, AND
2. Complete and sign a withdrawal form provided by the studio office.
*No refunds will be issued for costume deposits.
*Any drops without notice as listed above, will incur continued charges to your credit card account until a withdrawal form is submitted.
PAYMENT POLICIES & TUITION FEES:
*A non-refundable enrollment fee of $15.00 per student is required annually at the time of registration.
*A parent or guardian must fill out and submit our enrollment form and policies acceptance prior to attending
your first class. These are available upon request at our front desk.
*Payments are accepted by Credit/Debit/Automatic Withdrawal, and Check. Cash payments are discouraged. Additional fees are applied for NSF checks.
$26.00 per month - All 25 min. classes (Tiny Tots, or Mus. Theater, Hip Hop, etc.)
$44.00 per month - 1 class, one child per week.
$82.00 per month - 2 classes, or two children per week
$116.00 per month - 3 classes, or three children per week
each additional 55min. class $34.00 each
